 Assessment

Commitment

Assessment at CFG involves gathering data and input to understand the needs of the community. It is through assessment that the community's voice can be heard. The strategies for change need to align with the community's needs in order to achieve the intended impact.

Commitment at CFG entails bringing together community members to form a team or coalition. The purpose of this coalition is to address important issues and establish partnerships with other stakeholders. By forming coalitions and partnerships, participants have ownership of the process and gain access to a pool of financial and human resources. These resources are crucial in supporting strategies for policy, systems, and environmental changes.

 Planning

After assessing the community's needs, planning is the next step at CFG. With the information available, the team takes action to develop a Community Action Plan for driving change.

    Evaluation

Evaluation is an integral part of the community change process at CFG. It helps answer crucial questions such as whether the right strategies are in place and if there's a tangible impact. Whether formal or informal, evaluation collects lessons from the project and recommends future steps. It's essential to consider evaluation from the onset and incorporate it throughout the different phases. Additionally, evaluation informs key decision-makers. While listed as the final component, evaluation is woven throughout the entire process.

    Implementation

At CFG, implementation is achieved by executing the plan developed in collaboration with the community team, stakeholders, and partners. To ensure successful implementation, it is crucial to maintain the commitment and ownership established from the beginning. Without this support, the plan runs the risk of falling apart.
